Born in Bucyrus and raised on a farm in north central Ohio, Dean Shoup always had a desire to repair things. His curiosity in electricity on the farm shifted to pumps and plumbing then into heating and air conditioning. He studied farm electricity at Ohio State University and eventually obtained state licences in four fields (Plumbing, HVAC, Electricity, and Hydronics). Several years ago, he began to research renewable energy and found that solar (photovoltaic panels) seemed to be very promising.  Since then, Dean has installed over 50 solar systems. From humble beginnings, he managed to grow the business into what it is today 52 years later.

Office Manager

 Anna Shoup began working at the Social Security Administration headquarters in Baltimore then transferring to the Coast Guard in Washington D.C. doing data processing and accounting work. After leaving the government, she sought employment in the private sector. She then worked 18 years at National Memorial Park in Northern Virginia doing accounting.  Anna took accounting and business management at Northern Virginia Community College and now she manages our office and takes care all accounts payables, receivables, and payroll.

Mike began his plumbing and heating experience at a young age helping Shoup's out on his summer breaks. Mike then went on to work for Cosam Contractor's.  At Cosam, Mike was a Duralast Roof Installer. As time went on Mike started working for Studer Obringer Construction where he learned a huge set of skills, building hospitals, schools, libraries and many other buildings in the heavy construction industry.

Mike then found himself back in the family business doing what he loved; working with family and making customers happy. Mike has a degree in Solar Engineering and Construction.  Mike is certified and trained in furnaces, hvac, water systems and plumbing. 

David Boggess

In memory of David Boggess, Rest in peace.

David worked for Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative for 6 years doing maintenance.  After moving to Ohio in 1992, he was employed at Pamida for 15 years before going to work for Shoup's Plumbing & Heating.  David stocked all the parts and managed the inventory for 10 years.
